Bing ChatGPT

I have an embarrassing confession. It's best I just quickly say it: I have become an Edge Browser & Bing user. Whew! Feels good to get that out there. I was getting really nervous that I'd get caught.

I'm using it on my Surface Pro, my iPhone & my iPad. I use it for all things not requiring double VPN & Tor.

Bing Chat (powered by ChatGPT) has changed how I engage with search. This morning I was preparing for my Mondly VR Japanese lesson (more on that on another day) and Bing prepared for me in one query what would have taken me at least 6. It also summarized them into a "flash card" I could quickly reference.

Twice a year, I write a competitive intelligence document that outlines the strengths and weaknesses of WitFoo against others in the market. It normally takes me 2 to 3 days to do all the queries, read all the content and synthesize the document. It took me 3 hours using Bing Chat.

Having Bing Chat in the browser is huge for me and fundamentally changes the way I interact with the web at least as much as my jump from Yahoo! to Google in 1999.

As COVID started in January on 2020, Microsoft converted Edge to a Chromium based browser making it's function nearly the same as Chrome (including extensions, data sync, etc.)

Over the years, I've used a lot of browsers & search engines. We've come a long way since searching Yahoo! trees on Netscape.

This is a massive change to a fundamental skill in my life. It's both exciting and exhausting to relearn such a key tactic.

Any way back to parsing: 空は青いけれど雲は灰色だ
